Bottom line: This is the best Chinese carry-out on the west side of Metro Detroit...bar none! I am only sorry that I haven't written a review before as I have been a regular here for nearly 10 years. Call me crazy but I judge a Chinese restaurant on their Chicken Chop Suey. If they can't do that, then they can't do anything. And, this place is THE best...on par with Peking House in Royal Oak and Golden Chopstick in St. Clair Shores. BIG portions too. The owners are on site and are as nice as they can be. Our second order last night was Moo Goo Gai Pan. My friends raved about it. And, the service is fast too...generally 15 minutes. I love Chinese. Was a huge fan of Wong's Eatery in Windsor back in the day. Trust me you'll fall in love with this place.

Ok I'm not sure what all the hype is about with this place. As far as I can tell it's mediocre Chinese take out but huge portions. I ordered Kung Pow Shrimp and General Tao's Chicken with Wong Tong soup. Soup was bland, dumplings boiled to mush etc... Shrimp dish was sort of weird, hardly any peanuts, mostly PEAS, that's right I said PEAS! so be warned. Chicken was good but the fried rice was iffy. I would order the chicken again. The Egg Rolls were, well,........ Egg Rolls. Seriously people if you find this place so amazing you really need to get out more.

It is what it is - a local carry out Chinese spot. Don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed. Frankly, I only carry out from here as a last resort...like if it's raining and I don't care what I eat as long as it's vaguely Asian.

Always looking for a quick Chinese take out on those busy evenings. I stopped by this place, as it is located close to where I live. To my surprise the volume of food provided is very generous, and the speed of the preparation is outstanding. Several notes on the food, the flavor is decent, the beef is chunky and have a texture of steak, the shrimp portions are generous, and they have brown rice.

Yes the portions are large but when the food is blah, you don't want that much anyway. Stopped in for lunch. The hot and sour soup had generous portions of tofu and mushrooms but the soup itself did not have the right combination of hot (spicy) and sour. Also had the chicken chow fun - could only eat about a 1/4 of it for lunch but that too was bland and tasteless. And it is strictly take out - not even one table.

Last time I had Szechuan Gourmet I had the General Tsao's chicken, vegetable lo mein, Peking chicken, and egg rolls. All three were awesome. My mom swears they are the best egg rolls she's ever had. The peking chicken was vegetably and tasty without being too heavy or salty. Plus, the food is always ready on time and the owner is always super friendly. I always feel like I'm an old friend there.

10 stars? What do you get when you cross amazing chinese with fresh delicious ingredients? Give up? Szechuan Gourmet! Hands down, the best egg rolls and spring rolls you will ever eat. I am ridiculously picky and I could just cry over how good they are. All ingredients are fresh and all food is made when ordered. It is a carry-out only, but that doesn't hamper the experience. The staff is friendly, welcoming and make me feel like part of the family. You are number 1 in my heart Szechuan Gourmet. I just have to say, writing this review makes my mouth water.

Not impressed. I guess I'm pretty finicky since I am from a state with a huge Chinatown so I have to say this place is very mediocre. When I peeped at the menu I was excited to try one of their million different dishes. Even though 90% of them say "brown gravy" I had hope that they would be unique. Nope. Not at all. I got the steak kow. It had a wonderful assortment of vegetables...but not the ones on the menu. My dad had a similar dish with chicken and although they had different names they were in essence the same dish. I guess my main issue was that everything was very bland. No real flavor to anything. Egg rolls were decent. Nothing was horrible it just wasn't great. There are so many other Chinese restaurants...go try one of them.

I have been here once, and not sure if anything really will call me back. Food is okay for the cost but the Mongolian beef I ordered left my mouth with a weird aftertaste (and no, it wasn't panda). I don't know if it normally tastes like that or a got a weird batch but i had to incorporate a lot of rice into each bite. This place is clean and was super fast placing an impromptu carry out order.

Great service and awesome food. We really enjoy the Spring Rolls, Shrimp Lo Mein, Shrimp Fried Rice and Beef and Pea pods. Best in the township :)

This must have been by far the worst Chinese food I have ever had!!! We ordered chicken fried rice, almond boneless chicken, Mongolian beef and 2 egg rolls. All 3 plates were soooo greasy the fried rice wasn't cooked right and the egg rolls were hard as rocks. I will never eat here again!!

Ordered carryout for dinner from here last night. We ordered five entrees plus some other items for ~$60. I thought the sesame chicken was very good. On the other hand, my egg roll was sub-par. Could have been due to the amount of time between when the order was ready, when it was picked up, and when I ate it though. Will give it another chance. One diner ordered tofu with their entree and it came fried (as we did not specify preparation method). As such, they did not like theirs. They offer choice of brown rice or white rice (same price) which we have found not to be the norm. They also offer "most of our selections can be prepared without frying, oil or breading." One of our diners took advantage of this. Will try again and update review accordingly then. Carryout only. Takes Discover.
